Health insurance premiums for plans in Washington State’s exchange are going up an average of just over 4% next year.

State insurance commissioner Mike Kreidler says twelve providers will offer plans through the exchange.

About 240,000 consumers who don’t get coverage from their employers are currently enrolled in plans through the exchange and 78% of them get financial help with their premiums.

Assistance is based on income and the average subsidy is $400 per month.

Open enrollment for plans in 2022 is November 1st through December 15th, but some may qualify for a special enrollment period.
