OLYMPIA, WASH. – In the first week of its special session, the State Legislature appears to be nearing an agreement to fully fund education.
But, Republicans, like Senator Dino Rossi of Sammamish, say there’s no way GOP members can support the tax increases in the Democrats’ budget.
Democratic Representative June Robinson from Everett says taxes are the critical question.
“How we’re going to pay for the needs of our state is a critical question, it is a big part of the discussion,” Robinson says.
Negotiations continue.
