OLYMPIA, Wash. — A $6.3 million win for Attorney General Bob Ferguson in a lawsuit against iYogi that accused the company of scamming consumers, claiming to be one of the largest tech support providers in the world.

The 2015 lawsuit accused iYogi and its U.S. president, Vishal Dahr, of using deception and scare tactics to get consumers to buy unnecessary tech support services.

As a result of the lawsuit, the AG’s Office says iYogi India is essentially defunct and its U.S. operations were shut down.

$4 million will go to restitution while the remaining money iYogi is ordered to pay will go to civil penalties, damages, and costs and fees.

Ferguson notes that iYogi will not be refunding consumers directly, so if you receive something from them, it is a scam.
