OLYMPIA, Wash. — The State Liquor and Cannabis Board won’t be banning pot-infused candy after all, but they are setting some strict guidelines on how the products are made and presented.
Earlier this year, the board had considered moves to ban edibles, but decided to re-evaluate after hearing back from recreational marijuana sellers and edibles producers.
KOMO reports the new rules are expected to be fully implemented by the end of next year and include restrictions on colors and shapes used for both the product and the packaging.
Producers would be prevented from using bright or alluring colors, and will be required to keep with a standard range of colors set by the board.
