BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol paid a visit to the Whatcom Humane Society this morning and left with a new sidekick.

The humane society said WSP members visited them to meet a dog named Dixie.

They were apparently looking for tennis ball obsessed dogs that would be a good fit for their K9 program because they use tennis balls as a reward during narcotic and explosive detection training.

Dixie was a great match.

They adopted her and she will now be working with the state patrol to serve and protect our community.

You can see photos of the meet-and-greet below.
