MARYSVILLE, Wash. — The State Patrol will be out in force looking for distracted drivers this weekend.
Troopers will conduct a distracted driver emphasis patrol throughout the state from Friday to Sunday.
They’ll be looking out for drivers using hand held cellphones or other devices, which can bring a $136 ticket.
It’s an additional $99 fine if you commit any traffic offense while distracted.
The latest statistics say distracted drivers cause 30% of all fatal accidents and 23% of the serious injury accidents in the state.
