BELLINGHAM, Wash. – There’s been an increase in number of motorcycle-involved deaths and serious injuries this year.

Friday through Sunday, the State Patrol will have extra Troopers out on the roads and a plane up in the sky.

They’ll be looking for unsafe, speeding, aggressive and impaired motorcyclists.

The State Patrol is reminding riders you must wear an approved helmet, your license plate needs to be attached horizontally at the rear of the bike and lights need to be on.

Troopers also want you to know that lane-splitting and driving on the shoulder is illegal.
