SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — Police say the number of intoxicated drivers arrested while children are in the car is rising in western Washington.
Washington State Patrol says District 8 troopers have made thirty DUI arrests with minors present so far this year.
That number is typically the average for an entire year.
Intoxicated drivers arrested with children in the car could face charges of reckless endangerment for each minor present in addition to the DUI charge.
Police also contact Child Protective Services in these cases.
