BELLEVUE, Wash. — As the holiday season gets underway on Black Friday, the Washington State Patrol and other police agencies will kick off their annual holiday DUI emphasis patrol.

A State Patrol spokesman says that as of October 31 there have been 224 people killed on Washington roadways in 2018, with many of the fatalities coming in crashes involving impaired drivers.

They’ll hold a public kick-off event at the State Patrol’s Bellevue headquarters on Friday evening.
