TACOMA, Wash. – Washington farmers are giving away 200,000 pounds of potatoes in Tacoma Thursday.
This is part of their larger effort to get 1 million pounds of the crop to people in need.
The News Tribune reports the potatoes were meant to be sold to restaurants and other large purchasers, but the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench in those plans.
Potatoes will be available for drive-thru pickup in the Tacoma Dome parking lot between 11am and 2pm May 14th.
