State Representatives Speak Out Against Border Closure Extension

Local US Representatives are slamming the Biden administration’s decision to keep the border closed to Canadian visitors until at least August 21st.

Democrats Susan DelBene and Rick Larsen both released statements criticizing the move as “short sighted” and damaging to border communities.

1st District Representative DelBene says the continued closure “all but ensures more businesses will close and more livelihoods will be destroyed along the border.”

2nd District Democrat Larsen points to residents and small business owners who he says “feel left behind by the administration’s policies.”

Canada says it will start allowing fully vaccinated Americans to cross the border beginning August 9th.
