OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — The state Senate held a hearing on expanded sports betting in Washington.
Supporters of a bill that would expand it beyond Indian casinos and into privately-owned card rooms say it would increase job and tax revenues.
But opponents say it would take money from tribes who use casino revenues to fund their operations and social programs and mostly benefit out-of-state interests.
The bill is being pushed by a Nevada-based gaming organization.
