OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington is suing President Trump over a decision to let more employers claim religious or moral objections so they can opt-out of providing no-cost birth control to women.
“Once you say that a business or employer can make decisions about your health care based on their religion, or their moral opposition to certain behaviors,” State Attorney General Bob Ferguson told KOMO, “that is a slippery slope that I’m deeply concerned about.”
Ferguson said Trump’s action requires individuals to bear the burden of religions to which they don’t belong, and applies to disproportionately to women.
