OLYMPIA, Wash. — Governor Jay Inslee warns that Washington is on the cusp of a fourth wave of COVID-19.

Inslee said new cases had grown to more than 1,000 a day, and hospitalizations rates have increased significantly.

Effective Friday. Cowlitz, Pierce, and Whitman counties will be moved back to Phase 2 of the state’s reopening plan.

Inslee is urging people to get vaccinated, and to socialize and conduct business outside to slow further spread of the virus.
