FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies answered a call for service… from a stolen robot mower.
The owner told deputies a robot auto-mower had been stolen from their Ferndale-area yard.
The victim was notified of the theft of the $10,000 machine when receiving an alert on the mower’s mobile app.
The app showed the mower about three miles from the victim’s home.
As deputies were en route, the mower sent another alert that it was moving and then stopped shortly thereafter.
Deputies recovered the mower and returned it to its owners.
Evidence at the scene was recovered and the case is under investigation.
