EVERETT, Wash. – The snow pack that provides drinking water for our neighbors to the south is at a healthy level.
The Everett Herald reports measurements taken at three location in Snohomish County show snow depth at 160% of average, while water content is at 92% of average.
The Snohomish County Public Utility District manager says this is good news for the 600,000 residents of the county who get their water and hydro-electric that from snow melt.
Jim Miller says that is enough water for the City of Everett and surrounding areas for the rest of the year.
Meantime, Mount Baker has reported 692 inches of snow so far this season, only trailing this decade’s highest total- 706 inches in 2011.
