LYNDEN, Wash. — Talented young artists in our community will be celebrated by the Whatcom County librarians at a reception for the 2018 Whatcomics exhibit and publication.
The reception will take place on Saturday, January 5 at the Lynden Library at 2 PM.
Beginning in 2007, Whatcomics has been publishing original artwork of local students, including watercolor paintings, pen and ink, colored pencil, and digital art.
Artists accepted for publication will receive a copy of Whatcomics and find out whose artwork was chosen for the cover of the publication.
Tamar Clarke, Teen Services Coordinator for the WCLS, says, “Whatcomics gives teens a chance to contribute . . . . Publishing their artwork helps teens gain confidence in their work.”
The Lynden Library will display the artwork through the month of January.
