SUMAS, Wash. – A Sumas man faces an assault charge for allegedly choking his five-year-old son.
Court records state that an officer responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a home on 2nd Street in Sumas on February 14th.
A woman in the home reported that she and her boyfriend, Bryan Hicks, were arguing when their young son got in his way.
She said he grabbed the child by the throat and the boy told the officer his father squeezed until he had a hard time breathing.
Hicks is charged with 2nd degree assault of a child.
