SUMAS, Wash. – Police are investigating after a Sumas Police officer was injured in a DUI crash last night, Sunday, February 27th.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Jacob Kennett says the officer was on a traffic stop with a commercial vehicle on the 9300 block of State Route 9 when their vehicle was struck by an SUV.
An investigation determined the driver of the SUV was impaired and they were arrested for DUI.
The officer and the driver of the SUV both suffered minor injuries and were transported to Peacehealth St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bellingham.
