OLYMPIA, Wash. — A USDA program to provide free meals for kids from infancy to age 18 has been extended.

Washington State Superintendent Chris Reykdahl says the Summer Food Service Program’s no-charge breakfasts and lunches, provided by schools, will now be continued through December.

On Tuesday, Reykdahl urged districts to add transportation and food services staff to provide grab and go meals and home delivery.
