BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Police arrested a suspect in the Lightcatcher Museum theft reported earlier this month.

Lieutenant Danette Beckley says the suspect used a tool to access a display case holding a gold domino set with diamond inlays valued at $15,000.

Paul Rich is suspected of melting down the gold and selling it to Bellingham Gold & Silver who then sold it to a Los Angeles company.

The gold was recovered.

The owner of Bellingham Gold & Silver, Roger Corliss, was also arrested on charges of trafficking stolen property, neglecting to record information, not reporting to police and dealing precious metals without a license.
