FERNDALE, Wash. – More details have been released about a recently arrested Ferndale homicide suspect.
City Communications Officer Riley Sweeney reports that the suspect was in custody as of Friday evening, January 28th.
Police had been looking for 23-year-old Miguel Angel Miranda following a shooting at a large party at the Ferndale American Legion early on Sunday, January 23rd.
The shooting left Jose Esquivel Hernandez dead.
Court documents state Miranda and two others were denied entry to the party.
Witnesses say that as Hernandez was escorting the men off the property, one of the men instructed Miranda to shoot him.
Hernandez later died from his injuries at the hospital.
Miranda has a violent criminal past and is also a known gang member.
