BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The children’s section of the Bellingham Public Library had be evacuated Tuesday.

Police were called to check out a suspicious package.

Someone saw the “ice cooler with wires sticking out” near the fountain and worried it might be a bomb.

Crews were called in to shut down streets, warnings were issued to the Whatcom County Courthouse and Bellingham City Hall, and the Bellingham Police bomb squad was on the way when the owner of the package showed up and claimed it.
