LYNDEN, Wash. — The Whatcom County Sheriff SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiators were called to arrest a couple wanted for warrants and auto theft.
Sheriff Bill Elfo says an Everson couple reported on Sunday that their stepdaughter’s boyfriend had taken their vehicle without permission and was with the young woman.
They had contacted the boyfriend and he told them the car was gone and he threatened to shoot up their home.
Deputies learned that the couple were both wanted for first degree robbery.
Deputies located the car and the couple at a home in the 8500 block of Vinup Road in Lynden, but they refused to come out of the house.
SWAT and the Crisis Negotiations Team were called and persuaded 19-year-old Chase Hoff and 18-year-old Jaydin Leininger to surrender.
