SEATTLE, Wash. — A Tacoma man has been federally charged with unlawful possession of a destructive device after participating in a Seattle protest.
The Department of Justice says 19-year-old Sami C Horner made his first appearance on the charge in U.S. District Court in Seattle Friday.
Horner was observed smashing windows during a protest march last Wednesday.
Law enforcement arrested Horner and found a molotov cocktail in his backpack, along with two lighters, a helmet, a mask with filters, and a walkie-talkie.
The case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Seattle Police Department.
Horner faces up to ten years in prison and $250,000 fine if convicted.
