TACOMA, Wash. (AP) – Two Tacoma police officers are facing charges after investigators say they told a woman to hit her grandson with a belt and watched as she did it.
The woman says the officers told her earlier this month that she needed to beat the boy. She says they made her do it.
The woman now calls the officers’ guidance “prehistoric.”
The News Tribune says the officer’s report described the incident as “lawful discipline.”
The officers are now on administrative leave.
