MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. — A Maple Valley high school has extra counselors on hand again today after students got news of two teens who took their own lives within a week.
KOMO reports Tahoma High School students and their families gathered for a candlelight vigil to mourn recent graduate Kione Gill, who died last week, and current student Kylee Snyder.
Snyder’s apparent suicide is the third within the school’s community after a 17-year-old boy took his own life in August 2017.
The district is reaching out to mental health professionals for input on how to provide the best help and support possible to the students.
