LA CONNER, Wash. — Members of two La Conner School District employee unions passed “no confidence” votes against the district’s superintendent.

La Conner School Board President Janie Beasley told the Skagit Valley Herald that the board will be reaching out to the unions to discuss next steps.

In a news release, representatives from the two unions said Superintendent Whitney Meissner has engaged in management practices that negatively impact staff, students, and the community since she took the position in 2017.

They complained of a negative school culture, poor communication, weak interpersonal skills, ineffective leadership, and the harassment, intimidation and bullying of staff members.
