SUDDEN VALLEY, Wash. – The body of a missing teen from China was found underwater at Camp Firwood on south Lake Whatcom.
Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo said teenager Bin Wang was last seen at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Crews searched the surrounding area and shallows until dusk, then picked up the search again Wednesday morning.
Tracking dogs helped lead crews to a cove with a 30-foot drop-off, where they found and recovered Wang’s body at about 4:30 pm Wednesday.
Wang didn’t know how to swim.
His shirt and shoes were found on the shoreline near the water.
