Wash. State – DOT crews have cleared State Route 20 for travel, providing vital alternative access across the North Cascades in case of natural disaster, like forest fires.
The route also supports freight movement, particularly timber haul.
Travelers who want to enjoy the scenic highway should keep in mind that the North Cascades National Park is closed to all visitors until further notice because of the current pandemic.
Facilities and access off the highway are limited.
