LYNDEN, Wash. – The manager of the Northwest Washington Fair has stepped down.
Jim Baron, who has served in the position for more than 16 years, was originally planning to hand his position to his Assistant Manager after the 2020 fair.
But the COVID-19 pandemic prompted leaders to postpone the event and Baron stepped down early, allowing Chris Pickering to step in as the fair’s new CEO.
Pickering now faces challenges posed by a global pandemic, but he says he looks forward to happier days when they can bring everyone together again in celebration.
