OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington state is getting a new commercial airport.

The Legislature created the Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission to ensure Washington can meet future commercial aviation demands.

The commission has now begun scouting locations.

They will narrow down potential airport sites based on research and factors such as airspace, local land use, market demand and community input.
