EVERSON, Wash. – A theft suspect cornered by sheriff’s deputies tried to run them over and rammed a patrol vehicle to get away Monday night, February 21st.
Court documents state that a deputy tried to pull Anthony Michel Santoro Lake over on Everson Goshen Road after being alerted by Lynden Police that he was wanted for shoplifting.
The suspect took off at more than 100 miles per hour and the deputy called off the chase.
He and another deputy later located the man in a dead end on Mission Road and blocked his exit.
He rammed one of the patrol vehicles to push it out of the way and drove at both deputies as he escaped.
He was seen pulling into the Bellingham Comfort Inn and deputies found him hiding in a closet.
Items taken from the Lynden Safeway worth over $800 were found in the car.
