OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – At least four wolves died in our state this year.

The state Department of Fish and Wildlife says two wolves died after being hit by cars.

Another was slayed to protect woodland caribou.

A fourth wolf was killed in Idaho, where wolves can be hunted.

State law protects the more than 100 wolves in Eastern Washington.
