BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Western Washington University is on alert after a social media threat Tuesday morning, apparently directed at another school with “Western” in its name.
The university says police in Detroit, Michigan are investigating the threat to “shoot up” a school that they believe is directed toward a Michigan high school and not connected to the university.
Western says it takes all potential threats seriously and asks students who have concerns about someone’s behavior to call 360-650-SAFE (7233), counselors are also available to students.
