BLAINE, Wash. – The Blaine School District is among those that have been impacted by recent threats and they’re asking the community to help with the response.
Blaine Police said in a statement late Tuesday, December 14th, that a 12-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with at least one of the threats.
The two incidents involved threatening graffiti in school bathrooms.
Superintendent Dr. Christopher Granger and Blaine Police Chief Donnell Tanksley have issued an open letter asking everyone to help make sure schools stay safe.
They’re asking families to talk with children to help them understand that threats are never a joke, regardless of the intent when they’re made.
Making threats can also result in significant discipline and lasting effects on a person’s future.
And they’re asking parents and guardians to monitor students’ online activity and for any threats to be reported immediately.
They want to reassure students and families that many people are working diligently to keep schools safe.
