BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Two people were injured in a hatchet attack near the homeless encampment at Bellingham City Hall.
Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says three people in two cars got into an altercation with several people from the homeless camp just before 11pm Friday.
A male suspect attacked the men with a hatchet, breaking one victim’s nose and leaving the other with non-life threatening wounds to his neck.
Another suspect threatened the victims with a gun.
The three sought treatment at the hospital where officers interviewed them.
Police are looking for the suspects.
