BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Three people were injured when troopers say a driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of Hannegan and Van Dyk Roads and caused a T-bone accident.
The State Patrol believes Jose Vazquez-Lopez was intoxicated when he failed to stop Sunday evening at the intersection and was hit by a car going north on Hannegan just before 5:00 PM.
Vazquez-Lopez’s pickup was pushed off the roadway, but he was not hurt.
The three Lynden residents in the car were released to PeaceHealth Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Troopers say additional charges besides DUI are pending against Vazquez-Lopez.
