BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Whatcom County continues to increase.

Results updated by the Whatcom County Health Department at noon Friday, 3/20/2020, say that there are now 10 confirmed cases of the illness.

Cases are in both males and females and involve a variety of age groups, ranging from teens to 80s.

So far, there has been one death attributed to the illness and 240 negative test results.

That brings the statewide death toll from COVID-19 to 83.

67 of those deaths are concentrated in King County.

The updated numbers come as labs in the state increase their testing capacity, which may mean a big increase of total confirmed cases of the illness in the coming days.

Right now, the total number of confirmed cases in the state is over 1500.
