TACOMA, Wash. — A worker at one of the state basketball tournaments tested positive for COVID-19.

Local players and spectators weren’t at risk because the worker was involved in the 3A and 4A tournaments in Tacoma.

Local teams played in tournaments in Yakima and Spokane where no cases have been reported.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association says the person showed symptoms after the tournament and others involved in the event are at low risk.
