BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A transient man was arrested after attacking first responders in Bellingham.

Bellingham Police Officer Chad Cristelli said that the man was found lying face down and unresponsive in the middle of 36th Street on Friday evening, July 29th.

Fire crews were able to get to the scene first, at which point they were confronted by 30-year-old Alexander Reed.

Reed pointed a knife at the firefighters and threatened to slit their throats.

Once police arrived, Reed turned his threats towards the officers.

He threw his knife at the officers, but ended up hitting the side of a fire truck.

Reed remains behind bars on several counts, including two previous warrants.
