A Department of Transportation roundabout project moves to Skagit County.
The Connecting Washington Project will build two large roundabouts along State
Route 20 in spring 2018.
The roundabouts will be placed in the Sharpes Corner intersection. Located at the east end of Anacortes, it has averaged 14 crashes a year for the last 10 years according to a new release from the Department of Transportation.
The 2015 Connecting Washington transportation package is funding the $13.4 million project.
Crews plan construct a single line roundabout on the intersection of SR 20 and Miller roads. Then will move north to build a two lane roundabout at Sharpes Corner.
