DELTA, B.C. – A happy ending after a tribal fisherman is found alive after going missing for several days in local waters.
Relatives reported 39-year-old Michael Smith missing after he went crab fishing in an 18-foot boat but didn’t arrive in Blaine as expected Monday night.
A search was called off Tuesday, but Coast Guard Petty Officer Steve Strohmaier says Canadian authorities found him miles away from his destination on Thursday morning.
Strohmaier wasn’t sure of Smith’s physical condition after he was found.
