BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The man behind the wheel of a pickup that crashed with a bicycle on Old Fairhaven Parkway, leading to the death of the rider, won’t face charges.
Bellingham Police are done with their investigation.
They found the driver of the truck, Dan Reedy, and the bicyclist, Eric Weight, couldn’t see each other on the morning of March 22nd.
Reedy had a solid green light to turn left onto 30th and made the turn after yielding to traffic.
Weight was in a bicycle lane passing a long line traffic that had stopped for the signal.
He ran a red light, crashed with the truck and died at the scene.
Police say they couldn’t see each because of the line of cars stopped for the signal.
