OLYMPIA, Wash. — Newly-released video simulations show tsunami waves of ten feet or more are likely to hit Bellingham following a magnitude 9.0 earthquake.
The Department of Natural Resources released a series of modeled video simulations for the entire Washington coast with more detailed views for Bellingham and the San Juan Islands.
Using detailed models, the simulations show the expected height and speed of waves expected to reach Washington communities minutes after the next Cascadia earthquake.
