MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Tulip time is only a few months a way, but there’s word that Tulip Town, the center piece of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, is up for sale.
Owners Tom and Jeannette De Goede have been part of the festival since its inception in 1984.
Jeannete De Goede told the Skagit Valley Herald with her husband at age 84, and her at 79, they are ready to retire and in her words give the farm to someone worthy to keep the tulips going.
De Goede said there have been a few offers on the property… and they won’t be far away either – offering to volunteer when they can.
