SEATTLE, Wash. — Two people were arrested for property damage and obstruction while protesting Thursday night in Seattle, according to police.
An SPD tweet called out property destruction at East Olive and Belmont Avenue.
KIRO also reports police released bodycam footage of the protester taken to Harborview after being arrested Wednesday night, saying that suspect did not sustain any physical injuries during the arrest.
This as a crowd control device used by the SPD known as LRAD’s, long range acoustic devices, of military grade, are coming under scrutiny.
ACLU of Washington attorney Molly Tack-Hooper told KOMO the devices can cause permanent hearing loss.
Seattle Crime Stopper consultant Jim Fuda says the concerns are overblown.
LRAD’s were used most recently in Seattle Wednesday night during a protest at the Cal Anderson park.
