BLAINE, Wash. – Whatcom County Sheriff’s investigators have made two arrests in connection with a major gun theft near Lynden.

The department says a homeowner returned from a trip on Wednesday to find someone had broken into their home, forced open gun safes and stolen 29 weapons.

The home was equipped with surveillance cameras and deputies were able to quickly identify two suspects.

They contacted 51-year-old Darrell Glenman and 52-year-old Kimberly Belles at their home in Blaine and the pair admitted to the burglary.

Glenman said he had already sold two guns from the collection but they were located and all 29 weapons were recovered.

The pair face a number of charges including an illegal weapons possession count for Glenman, who is a convicted felon.
