WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Two Whatcom County businesses have settled with the EPA over environmental violations.
The EPA reports a September 2017 inspection revealed Maxum Petroleum of Bellingham violated the Clean Water Act by failing to update its spill prevention plan and failing to ensure containment of spilled product at their Port of Bellingham Fairhaven facility.
The EPA also fined AmeriCold Logistics of Lynden for chemical risk management rule violations.
That same facility was penalized this spring for Clean Water Act violations as was AmeriCold’s Burlington facility.
