FERNDALE, Wash. – The two men whose bodies were found in a submerged car in the Nooksack River near Ferndale’s Pioneer Park Tuesday morning have been identified.
Police say 30-year-old Landry L Lawrence was the driver of the vehicle and 23-year-old Darriann J. James was his passenger.
Both men were residents of the Lummi Reservation.
Ferndale police officers found the car in the river next to Ferndale Road after a pedestrian reported skid marks and debris leading toward the river.
The time of the crash is estimated to have been between 7:20 and 7:40 pm on Monday.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
